Diagnostics is the key to improving your smile
Many of our patients, like yourself, contact us with similar problems at Designer Smiles, in Cremorne on Sydney’s lower North Shore, and are happy to find there are a number of cosmetic dental, reconstructive dentistry and general/family dentistry options available.
It starts with the diagnostic procedure, in which aesthetic reconstructive dentist Dr. Sarkis Nalbandian explains all your options – including the outcome of having no treatment.
Many practices make these important decisions for you.At Designer Smiles we ask you for help in deciding on your treatment program. We want to make sure you are happy and confident with what is involved. Most importantly, that you are delighted with the results.
What diagnostics involves?
Dr. Sarkis Nalbandian encourages you to look at your teeth in the mirror and say what you do and don’t like, or explain other concerns. Then he will collate important diagnostic information with tools that may include:
Composite mock-ups (trial restorations). When you are having a cosmetic dentistry or a reconstructive procedure, these special diagnostic measures help you visualise the end result
Models of your teeth
OPGs – orthopantograms, where an X-ray tube moves around the head to give a panoramic view of the jaw and teeth
Cone Beam CT (CAT) scans – a revolution in diagnostics
Our diagnostic information not only requires simple assessment in 2D – especially in Dr. Nalbandian’s practice of dental implant surgery and prosthodontics – but in 3D, when immediate diagnosis is required.
This information is crucial to treatment, especially if you are travelling long distances to Designer Smiles.
What happens then?
Treatment time depends on what we do. Sometimes you can have a new tooth or several teeth fitted in one day. Options range from one visit to over a few months. Sometimes, if we need to augment the bone (as in dental implant surgery), treatment may take about six months.
Call us today or fill in the form below to find out what we can do for you. We offer a full range of dental services but never pressure you. Ultimately our job is to make sure you have all the information you need to make the decision you are comfortable with for a beautiful, healthy smile. You will be happily surprised how many options you have to suit your exact needs and circumstances.
