Patient in chair during sleep dentistry

Sleep Dentistry - Improve your teeth while you’re asleep!

Are you afraid of going to the dentist (it doesn’t matter how old you are!) even though you want to fix your teeth? You’re not alone.

You may have had bad experiences, especially as a child, or you’ve heard horror stories. Maybe it’s fear of the unknown stopping you from having the healthy, beautiful white smile you’ve always dreamed of that will change your face and life.

If being awake during a dental treatment or cosmetic dental procedure worries you, at Designer Smiles, in Cremorne on Sydney’s lower North Shore, we offer a number of pain-free “sleep dentistry” options, including IV sedation, nitrous oxide and The Wand®. This is NOT general anaesthetic, where you are deeply unconscious and unresponsive.

Sleep Dentistry is so relaxing. You are not only finally getting the treatment you want but it takes the stress and anxiety out of your visit.

Whether you’re concerned about tooth decay, want new or replacement fillings (especially old amalgam ones), teeth whitening, teeth cleaning or one of a range of cosmetic dental procedures performed by aesthetic reconstructive dentist Dr Sarkis Nalbandian and his team, call us today about your sleep dentistry options.

We immediately begin to assess your concerns and you will find there is nothing to be afraid of!

How sleep dentistry works for you

In the chair at Designer Smiles, you will be covered with a warm blanket and a blood pressure cuff wrapped around one arm.

You then receive a combination of sedative and pain-relieving drugs (alternatively, "happy gas") to create a drowsy and dream-like state – not quite awake or asleep. You will be undisturbed by the noises, tastes, sights and smells of the dental procedure. There is no pain or no anxiety.

Yet you are still able to co-operate with Dr Nalbandian or one of his team when asked. Afterwards, you won’t remember it but will have a heightened sense of wellbeing.
